產品介紹 This gene is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. The encoded poly-Ig receptor binds polymeric immunoglobulin molecules at the basolateral surface of epithelial cells; the complex is then transported across the cell to be secreted at the apical surface. A significant association was found between immunoglobulin A nephropathy and several SNPs in this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]

Function:
This receptor binds polymeric IgA and IgM at the basolateral surface of epithelial cells. The complex is then transported across the cell to be secreted at the apical surface. During this process a cleavage occurs that separates the extracellular (known as the secretory component) from the transmembrane segment.

Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Secretory component: Secreted.

Post-translational modifications:
N-glycosylation is not necessary for Ig binding.

多聚免疫球蛋白受體(pIgR)屬Ⅰ型跨膜糖蛋白,可與多聚免疫球蛋白A和多聚免疫球蛋白M特異性結合,通過穿胞轉運,將它們從上皮細胞基底側膜轉運到頂膜,并最終分泌到外分泌液中去. 在此過程中,多聚免疫球蛋白受體的細胞外段被水解,釋放出與多聚免疫球蛋白A或多聚免疫球蛋白M相結合的細胞外段(又稱為分泌成分). 分泌成分是sIgA分子的重要組成部分,直接參與sIgA的粘膜防御功能,而且在被動粘膜免疫中也有重要作用. 多聚免疫球蛋白受體通過介導細胞內多聚免疫球蛋白的轉運,可以在粘膜的腔面阻止病原體粘附,在上皮細胞內中和病毒,也可以將固有層內的抗原分泌出去.
