Tetracycline is a broad spectrum antibiotic produced by Streptomyces genus of Actinobacteria. Tetracycline is a protein synthesis inhibitor. Its mechanism of action is the binding of the 30s ribosomal subunit, preventing the docking of amino-acylated tRNA.
