Intercellular adhesion molecule 2 (ICAM2), also known as  CD102 (Cluster of Differentiation 102),is a member of the ICAM family.  CD102 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein with two Ig-like C2- type  domains, which is mainly expressed on vascular endothelial cells and  lymphohematopoietic cells.CD102 binds to the leukocyte integrins  LFA-1(CD11a/CD18) and Mac-1 (CD11b/CD18) mediating adhesive interactions  important for antigen-specific immune response, such as T cell  aggregation, NK-cell cytotoxicity, lymphocyte recirculation, etc.


·Description

Recombinant Human ICAM2/ CD102 produced by  transiently transfected human cell is the extracellular domain(Accession  # P13598) ( Lys25 - Gln 223 ) of human ICAM2 fused with a polyhistidine  tag at the C-terminus.


·Quality Control

Biological activity: 
Measured by the  ability of the immobilized protein to support the adhesion of PMA  stimulated HSB2 human peripheral blood acute lymphoblastic leukemia  cells.


When cells are added to ICAM2 coated plates ( 12.5 μg/mL ,  100 μL/well ) , approximately 35 % - 45% will adhere specifically .


Purity:
Greater than 90.0% as determined by:


(a) Analysis by RP-HPLC.


(b) Analysis by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stained gel.


Amino-Acid Sequence: 
Predicted N terminal amino acid is Lys25.


Endotoxin: 
Less than 0.1ng/μg (1EU/μg) of rHuICAM2.




·Formulation


Sterile and Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in PBS.




·Reconstitution


It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized rHu ICAM2 in sterile water at not less than 100μg/ml.




·Storage 


Lyophilized rHu ICAM2 although stable at room  temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon  reconstitution rHu ICAM2 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and  aliquots of reconstituted samples containing 0.1% BSA are stable up to 3  months below -18°C for future use.
