IGFBP-2 (Insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 2) inhibits IGF-mediated growth and developmental rates. IGFBP-2 prolongs the half-life of the IGFs and has been shown to either inhibit or stimulate the growth promoting effects of the IGFs on cell culture.
