HCT116是1979年BrattainM等從患結腸癌的男性病人中分離建立的3株惡性細胞之一;產生CEA、角蛋白。在半固體瓊脂糖培養基中形成克隆。HCT116在無胸腺的裸鼠有致瘤性,形成上皮樣的腫瘤。
