Specificity:
This antibody reacts with CD40, a 50 kD
glycoprotein. CD40 is expressed on all mature
peripheral B-lymphocytes. In tissue sections it
reacts with B-lymphocytes and with interdigitating
reticulum cells.
Cellular Localization:
Antigen Distribution: peripheral blood lymphocytes
(13 ± 5%); T-cells, E+ (<1%); B-cells, E-,Ig+
(98 ± 2%); monocytes, CD14+ (<1%); granulocytes
(<1%); NK-cells, CD16+ (<1%);
thymocytes (<1%).
Species Reactivity:
Human, other species not tested.
Ig Isotype: Murine IgM
Format:
1ml lyophilized supernatant with 0.1% sodium
azide. Purified by ammonium sulphate
precipitation. Reconstitute with 1ml (sterile)
distilled water.
Storage and Stability:
Stable for 1 year when stored at 4°C.
Applications and Suggested Dilutions:
Can be used for:
-Quantitative determination of peripheral B-cells
(CD40+) in blood.
-Identification of CD40+-cells in tissue sections.
-Staining of interdigitating reticulum cells in
tissues.
-Determination of B-cell origin of lymphoid
neoplasms, Elimination of B-cells by
complement dependent cytolysis.

Immunohistochemistry: Frozen sections only.
The antibody does NOT react with paraffin
embedded tissue.
Immunoblotting: Do NOT use.
The optimal dilution for a specific application
should be determined by the researcher.
