Stbl3 E. coli 菌株設計用于克隆慢病毒表達載體中的正向重復序列。 與 TOP10 E. coli 不同，
這些細胞能降低 ViraPower 慢病毒和其它逆轉錄病毒載體中長末端重復 (LTR) 的有害同源重組頻率。
此外，Stbl3 細胞表現出比 SURE 細胞更高的穩定性，顯著改進了慢病毒克隆的效率。
Stbl3 細胞的 DNA 產量通常比 TOP10 之類的常規菌株高 10 倍（表 1）。
