在體外培養黏附細胞時，常常需要消化分離細胞，消化分離的細胞后續進行細胞轉染實驗、細胞遷徙實驗、細胞增殖實驗、及分析檢測（如流式細胞術）。對大多數應用，常用蛋白酶消化分離細胞，然而這些酶（如胰酶）對細胞損傷比較厲害，作用于細胞膜上的蛋白與基質，而且還需要淬滅失活。而Accutase細胞分離溶液是一種膠原酶制備物，可安全有效的消化分離細胞，無需任何添加血清失活操作。研究證明，利用Accutase細胞分離溶液分離細胞傳代培養數代，對細胞生長形態、多潛能的標記抗原分子都維持的很正常。

成纖維細胞、角蛋白細胞、血管內皮細胞、肝細胞、血管平滑肌細胞、肝細胞前體細胞、原代雞胚神經元細胞、骨髓干細胞、CHO和BHK貼壁細胞、巨噬細胞、293細胞、L929細胞、永生小鼠生殖細胞、3T3、Vero、COS、HeLa、NT2、MG63、M24和A375轉移性黑素瘤、神經膠質瘤U251和D54、HT1080纖維肉瘤細胞和Sf9昆蟲細胞等。
