
凋亡細胞的清除對組織穩態和炎癥的修復很關鍵。MerTK是巨噬細胞表面的一類蛋白質,它能夠調節炎癥修復,效應細胞增生。通過與凋亡細胞表面翻轉的磷酯酰絲氨酸結合,能夠發生吞噬作用。此外,巨噬細胞還能夠抑制NF-KB信號通路。有研究表明,MerTK信號能夠促進SPM(炎癥損傷修復過程依賴于特定的調節因子)的合成。MerTK 在靜息巨噬細胞中及免疫抑制期間是作為一種耐受性受體。它屬于酪氨酸激酶受體中的TAM家族,在組織巨噬細胞中表達。因此,MerTK和CD64的雙重表達正成為巨噬細胞的界定標準,并幫助將組織巨噬細胞從樹突狀細胞中區分出來。
MerTK能調節巨噬細胞活化,促進凋亡細胞的吞噬,幫助血小板聚集,并維持體內血塊的穩定。MerTK在多種類型的癌癥中會發生過表達或異位表達,如白血病、非小細胞肺癌、黑色素瘤和前列腺癌等,這可能會導致若干典型的致癌信號傳導途徑的活化。
