15-deoxy-Δ12,14-PGJ2(15-d-PGJ2)是PGD2的最終脫水產物之一,通過中間體Δ12-PGJ2形成。生理條件下,15-d-PGJ2存在于體液中,濃度介于10^(-12)至10^(-9)M,但在感染和炎癥等應激條件下會急劇增加。在細胞類型和濃度的影響下,15-d-PGJ發揮促進和抗炎癥作用,其中許多作用是通過與過氧化物酶體增殖劑激活受體(PPAR-γ)的γ異構體結合而介導的。15-d-PGJ2似乎通過一種與PPAR-γ無關的機制誘導HO-1的表達,該機制由活性氧(ROS)的產生介導。
